Running has always been fun for me, especially long distance. I started running XC in grade one, when our school started offering it and I’ve loved it ever since. Once I won 1,500m in grade 8, I knew there was something in me that told me to continue running. I’ve never won anything else other than the 1,500 but, I use that as a motivation to work harder, and continue trying because no one is going to achieve goals without putting in effort.
My goals for the 2019/20 year is to qualify for OFSAA in Track and Field, and to work my hardest this season. I’ve already lost around 30 seconds off of my 1,500m this season because of Darl and the team, Kawartha Lakes Lightning, and I can't wait for more to come!
Kyra has been with the club for the past two years. During this time Kyra has dramatically improved and qualified for the 2019 Eastern Regionals Track Championships in the 3000m. Amazing athlete, amazing work ethic!
Kyra suffered a devastating injury yet return to COSSA and not only made an amazing comeback but helped a fellow athlete through the final 2km.
Kyra has become a vital component of our club. As our Junior Assistant Coach Kyra now inspired and motivates our youth as well as aid in organizing our local races.
