Jack started running at his elementary school at North Cavan in grade 4. As a young runner, he enjoyed running, but was just happy to be there. By Grade 7, Jack found his stride and won the KPREAA cross country championships, and came a close second in Grade 8. Jack also competed in the Cross Country Super Meet placing 4th overall in a very competitive group. He has won numerous 5k races in the Kawartha Region, and also competed in a 5k race in North Carolina where he placed 3rd overall achieving a personal best time of 18:35. Jack placed 1st at the Kawartha Cross Country meet to qualify for COSSA, where he then placed 5th to qualify for OFSAA. This past winter he also represented Team Ontario for Race Walking, and entered his first Provincially ranked 5K Snowshoe Racing competition where he placed first in his age group and 3rd overall. He continues to grow exponentially as a runner under the guidance and leadership of the Kawartha Lakes Lightning program. Jack also qualified for the 2019 Eastern Regionals Track Championships in the 3000m.
